weekend wrap-up...

We had a pretty low-key weekend around these parts. Friday I ran some errands and had lunch with my sister. Brennan kept complaining that his toe was hurting and sure enough the shoes that we just got him in May were too small. I ran in Shoe Carnival and picked up his new kicks.

He loooooooves them! He's been talking about his "big boy shoes" or "new shoes" constantly and telling everyone he sees to look at them. Ha!
We went to a birthday party at my aunt's house that night. It was a Toy Story theme. Brennan is really into Toy Story right now. We've DVR'd a few movies that come on Disney or ABC Family. He asks to watch Woody all the time. He's been carrying around the invitation for days because it's got a picture of Woody and Buzz on it. I'm loving how his little personality is coming out.

We had chili and I was all kinds of excited to finally have a Fall dish! I love me some soups during the cooler weather. My September dinner menu may or may not consist of 3 different soups this week and next. However, I do love my crock pot too, so...

I was a little nervous about Brennan going on the tractor ride. He is a very cautious kid and I wasn't sure how he would do but he loved it! He rode it twice. It was so fun to do something like that with family and being outside taking in this beautiful weather.

Saturday we got up kind of early and went to get breakfast. Brennan is pretty much at the age where he HATES to sit at the table and eat. It's exhausting and embarrassing going out with him. It's just not worth it. After breakfast we ran to the grocery store and then dropped him off with Brad's great-aunt and great-uncle (whom Brennan LOVES to pieces!). We were able to get loads and loads of things done around the house. Much of which contributes to the yard sale a friend and I are hosting on Saturday. We cleaned out the back shed, garage, Brad cut the grass, I cleaned up the back patio and we caught up on washing clothes.

We all nestled in and took a much needed afternoon nap. Well, Brennan and I did. The honey went fishing. Ick.

Saturday evening we headed out to a playground for a sweet friend's 1st birthday! I work with her mom and Brennan and the birthday girl are in the same room at school. Bren had so much fun and the birthday girl was just precious! Brennan was a "happening" kind of guy. Two parties in one weekend! Ha!

We really stayed low on Sunday which is just what this family needed. We spend so much of our time running, running, running. It was nice to just stay at home. I paid bills (double ick) while Brad went fishing again (insert wife award). We folded all of said laundry, grilled out, played in the backyard and napped once again.

I LOVE Sunday afternoon naps when my house is completely quiet. SO nice. We went to small group. Oh, how I love small group. Then Brad and I worked on cleaning out our coats/jackets and some clothes to put in the yard sale. If you know me you know I have yard sales quite often. Always at least once a year. I can always manage to find something to get rid of. Since my cat was put down, the room that housed all of his necessities is in the process of being cleaned out and repainted. I think I'm going to make that a little playroom for Brennan.
