I just got this email this morning from my cousin. Please pray for this sweet baby!
Caleb is doing a little better, although last night (Mon.) he had a bad night. His breathing rate got really high about 80 breaths per minute. The normal rate is between 20 and 40. The three of us got very little sleep. His breathing rate finally got below 60 tonight and he was able to have a bottle. The doctors will not allow him to take a bottle above 60bpm because of risk of aspiration. He still has his IV, Oxygen, and breathing treatments every four hours. They were able to turn his oxygen down a little today which is good because he must be off the oxygen before he can go home. He is coughing more today which is also good because it means his lungs are clearing. His doctor thought his color and lungs sounded much better tonight. He seemed to be feeling a little better and was playing with his toys and entertaining the nurses. He has also learned to wave and he waves at everyone that comes into the room unless they have needles. Thanks for the prayers and continue to pray for his breathing rate to drop to a more normal level.
Thanks!
Corey and April
